Fargeys business has kept pace with the city growth. A new store was built in 1972, in the Port O' Call, then moved to the south hill location in 1982, again building a new store three times the size of the previous one. In 1979, owner/manager Ed Makarenko added a north hill branch store, currently at 6842 Gaetz Avenue, which also was expanded four and a half years ago. Continuing to grow, in 2003, Fargeys added a third store to their group, buying the Color Shoppe in Lacombe, and refitting it as Fargeys Paint - Lacombe. (See Retailers)

Throughout their history, they have been a leader in bringing the latest technology to their customers. In 1983, Fargeys was the first paint company in western Canada to install a colour matching computer system.

Prestigious manufacturers such as Benjamin Moore paints, Canada's most consumer-desired brand, and Sikkens coatings have stood the test of time for durability. Fargeys long running consumer educational seminars, whether taught by Fargeys staff or by nationally-acclaimed designers brought to Red Deer by Fargeys, have helped thousands discover their hidden talent for decorating. Fargeys interior designers are available for in-home consulting, bringing you reality.

As good corporate citizens, the management and staff at Fargeys are involved in the community in ways too numerous to mention. Many facilities in the city and surrounding communities have received donations of products and expertise to help beautify their surroundings.
